New opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to find work within the community. The North East Community Development Council has launched a new pilot with a pioneer batch of 10 trainees. It hopes the programme can help them build up their confidence and develop skills for long-term employment in the future. The one-year pilot is a partnership between the North East CDC and the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS). The council hopes to scale up the programme to other gardens and centres and expand it to another 20 beneficiaries by 2023.
