As Mother's Day 2025 approaches, Janhvi Kapoor is cherishing the legacy of her late mother, Sridevi, through a heartfelt fan post. The young actress reshared an Instagram edit made by a fan, featuring Sridevi's iconic song "Andalalo" from the 1990 Telugu fantasy film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, in which Sridevi starred alongside Chiranjeevi.

The fan-made video, captioned "I'm too much obsessed with her," beautifully captures Sridevi's ethereal presence. Janhvi reposted the edit with a simple red heart emoji, expressing her enduring love and deep admiration for her mother. This act serves as a touching tribute to Sridevi's lasting impact, not only on her family but also on Indian cinema.

Sridevi, often regarded as India's first female superstar, had a remarkable career spanning several decades and numerous films in various languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Her performances in classics such as Sadma, Chandni, and Mr. India showcased her incredible versatility and depth as an actress. She acted in nearly 300 films across various Indian languages. Sridevi's influence extends far beyond her filmography; she is remembered for her grace, charisma, and ability to connect with audiences on a profound level.

Janhvi has often spoken about her mother's influence on her life and career. In previous interviews, she has expressed her commitment to carrying forward Sridevi's legacy, stating that she is willing to work tirelessly to honor it. Janhvi has also shared that she is overwhelmed by the love she receives from the South Indian film industry, attributing it to her mother's enduring legacy. She recognizes the "sense of ownership" that South Indian cine lovers have over her because of Sridevi's extensive work and popularity in the region.

Sridevi's untimely demise on February 24, 2018, left a void in the hearts of her family and fans. Despite the pain of her loss, Janhvi often reflects on her mother's influence, both personally and professionally. Janhvi, along with her sister Khushi, frequently shares throwback photos and heartfelt messages on social media, keeping Sridevi's memory alive.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Janhvi is making her own mark in the film industry. Her upcoming film Param Sundari, a romantic comedy directed by Tushar Jalota and set to release on July 25, 2025, promises to showcase her versatility as an actress. She is also part of the Telugu-language sports action drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. Recognizing that her opportunities are partly linked to her parents, Janhvi asserts that she carries their blood and will work just as hard as them.

Janhvi's tribute to Sridevi ahead of Mother's Day is a poignant reminder of the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter. It also highlights the enduring power of Sridevi's legacy, which continues to inspire and resonate with fans across generations.
