Following India's "Operation Sindoor," which targeted alleged terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, a Pakistani minister reportedly denied the existence of terror camps, leading to a heated exchange on live television.

Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces in response to the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen. India's Ministry of Defence stated that the operation aimed to strike at terrorist infrastructure from where attacks against India had been planned and directed. Nine sites were reportedly targeted during the operation. The Indian Army announced the strikes with a post on X saying, "Justice is served".

According to reports, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as an "unprovoked and blatant act of war," asserting that the Indian Air Force violated Pakistan's sovereignty. They claimed that the strikes targeted civilian populations across the international border in Muridke and Bahawalpur, and across the Line of Control in Kotli and Muzaffarabad. Pakistan's Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, stated that the targeted sites were civilian and not related to armed groups, dismissing India's claims of targeting terrorist camps as false.

Amidst these denials, a video circulating online purportedly shows a Pakistani minister being challenged on live television about the existence of terror camps within Pakistan. While the specifics of the exchange remain unclear from available sources, the anchor seemingly confronted the minister with evidence or reports contradicting the denial.

The Indian Embassy in Washington DC issued a statement asserting that India possesses credible evidence, including technical inputs and survivor testimonies, that implicate Pakistan-based terrorists in the Pahalgam attack. The embassy emphasized that India's actions were precise, measured, and non-escalatory, with no civilian, economic, or military targets hit. They further stated that the strikes were solely focused on known terror camps.

Tensions between the two countries have been high since the Pahalgam attack, with India vowing to hold those responsible accountable. Operation Sindoor has further escalated the situation, with Pakistan vowing to respond "at a time and place of its own choosing".
