For the first time ever, a demonstration of the Singapore Armed Forces' special forces rescuing hostages from a hijacked bus will feature at the National Day Parade 2022. There will also be battle tanks on the Marina Bay floating platform. The Total Defence Display will make a comeback after last being held in 2017. About 2,000 people will take part in this year's Parade and Ceremony. They are from 37 physical and virtual marching contingents, including the return of youth uniformed groups and those from social organisations.
