Malaysia's government has outlined additional support measures to alleviate the financial burden amid the rising cost of living and soaring food prices. Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has reassured the people that his government will maintain a subsidy for cooking oil sold in plastic packets. The relief measure is expected to cost US$1 billion. The government has also announced additional cash handouts for low-income groups.
