Protests continue in Sri Lanka with many demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa amid a deepening economic crisis that has seen inflation reach an all-time high. The nationwide inflation rate was 45.3 per cent in May 2022 according to the most recent data, as Sri Lanka struggles with its worst economic situation since its independence in 1948.
