Singapore has reported 6,393 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases. This is more than a two-fold increase from Jun 20's tally. The Health Ministry said community infections have risen 23 per cent week-on-week, largely driven by the increased spread of newer Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5. Associate Professor Ashley St. John from Duke-NUS Medical School spoke to CNA about the latest COVID-19 situation in Singapore.
